Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald's final trailer is here and the new character reveal just confirmed an ongoing fan-favourite theory!

Newt Scamander, Tina Goldstein, Queenie, Jacob and Credence are back in the Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald.

For years, Harry Potter fans have questioned whether Voldemort’s horcrux pet snake Nagini has always been a snake. Well, after nearly a year of speculations over whether the second movie to the franchise will delve into Nagini's origin story, J.K Rowling surprises fans with a new character reveal, which also confirmed a massive fan theory about Voldermort's beloved snake: Nagini was actually previously a witch!

But while fans believed this might mean Nagini was an Animagus, Nagini is actually a Maledictus. This is confirmed by author, J.K Rowling on Twitter.

According to Harry Potter Wiki, a Maledictus was a female individual who was a carrier of a blood curse that would eventually lead her to turn into a beast permanently. The curse was carried from birth and was passed down from mother to daughter.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Claudia Kim spoke about her upcoming role as a circus performer witch Nagini.

“It will be so interesting to see another side of Nagini,” she told reporters.

“You’ve only seen her as a Horcrux. In this, she’s a wonderful and vulnerable woman who wants to live. She wants to stay a human being and I think that’s a wonderful contrast to the character.”

Kim also said that her role will explore Nagini's magical abilities. “She has powers that are yet to be explored,” Kim said. “I can’t confirm she has powers like wizards have. And she doesn’t have a wand.”
