May the rides be ever in your favor!
Someday soon, fans of Hunger Games will be able to volunteer as tributes for their respective districts and turn their weapons to the Capitol! Lionsgate Entertainment Corp just confirmed that several projects are in the works for theme parks based on the dystopian world of Katniss Everdeen.
Two theme parks, one in Atlanta, USA and one in Hengqin, China, will center on rides and other attractions based on the blockbuster movie franchise. New York Times, which earlier reported the news, said that the Atlanta theme park is targeted to open by 2019, while the Chinese indoor entertainment centre in Hengqin aims to open by late 2018.
Specific details on these parks are yet to set in stone but another Lionsgate entertainment zone in Dubai, UAE is near to completion – this park is expected to open next year with zones dedicated to other film properties like Step Up and Divergent as well, and will feature a “District 12” complete with customed characters and Peeta Mellark’s bakery.

One thing for sure, parents can keep calm because child visitors to these parks will not have to fight to the death like their on-screen peers.
